Puppies · The Waitlist
A short list,
a long conversation.
Hello, I’m Deidre. I keep this program small on purpose — a handful of puppies each year, each one raised with quiet intention, warmth and love. Before any puppy goes home, we’ll take the time to get to know one another well — your life, your home, what you’re hoping for — because that conversation is how I know we’ve found the right match, not just the next name on a list.
Where things stand · June 2026
The waitlist is open for our 2026–27 litters.
We are currently planning a litter for this fall. Nothing is on the ground yet, which is the best time to introduce yourself — early conversations let us understand what you’re hoping for long before a puppy is ever born.

How we raise them
Loved from the very first moment.
Every RockSteady puppy is well loved and well socialized from the moment they’re born — and, truthfully, long before that. At each stage and milestone, we gently introduce them to new, age-appropriate experiences. Once it’s safe, they meet the outdoors, new people and new dog friends, and unfamiliar places; they try different foods, fruits, and vegetables; and each day brings a fresh toy with a different sound, texture, or sensation to discover. We follow the Puppy Culture protocols, giving every little one the chance to experience as much of the world as they safely can — in a warm, protected home — before they go on to their new families and lives.

How it works
Six steps, start to finish.
From the first email to the day a puppy rides home in your lap. We’ll walk it with you the whole way.

01
Reach out
Send us a note through the contact page with a little about you and your household — who’s home during the day, whether you’ve lived with a dog before, and what drew you to Tibetan Terriers. No form-letter required; a few honest sentences is plenty.
-
02
Getting to know each other
We’ll set up a good time for a phone or video call. Think of it less as an interview and more as getting to know each other — you’ll learn how we raise our dogs, and we’ll learn enough about your life and your heart to know what kind of puppy would thrive in it. Ask us anything.
-
03
Join the waitlist
If it feels like a good fit on both sides, you can then fill out our RockSteady Puppy Application and we’ll put you on the waitlist. The excitement begins!
-
04
A litter arrives
The journey begins. People who are on the waiting list are contacted first. We’ll be in touch weekly, and sometimes more than that — lots of photos and milestones shared along the way. We begin the adventure together.
-
05
Matching
Around six to seven weeks, temperaments come into focus. We do our official evaluations at eight weeks of age, then match puppies to what is appropriate for the home and family they will be joining — the bold one goes to the active household, the velcro one to the lap that wants company. You’ll always have a say.
-
06
Going home
Puppies leave between ten and twelve weeks, never sooner. Yours goes home current on vaccines and deworming, microchipped, vet-checked, and with a folder of health records — plus a breeder you can call for the rest of the dog’s life.

The other side of the table
What we’re looking for in a home.
We’re not picky for the sake of it — we just want the next twelve to fifteen years to go well for everyone, puppy included.
- 01 Someone home enough of the day that a social, people-oriented dog isn’t left lonely.
- 02 A willingness to keep up with the coat — Tibetan Terriers need regular brushing and grooming.
- 03 Patience for a slow-maturing, clever breed that does best with kindness and consistency.
- 04 A commitment to keep in touch — we love watching our dogs grow up.
Ready when you are
The best time to say hello is before there’s a puppy on the ground.
Tell us about your household and what you’re hoping for. We’ll let you know exactly where things stand and what the timeline looks like.
